"I cannot sleep unless I am surrounded by books."
Jorge Louis Borges

How it works:
The Beaumont will send the recipient a Heywood Hill voucher explaining how the 'Year in Books' subscription works, inviting the subscriber to have an (optional) reading consultation with a personal bookseller during the stay at The Beaumont. If not in person, the consultation can happen online or by phone as well. The subscriber will then be sent on a monthly basis, a total of 12 hand-picked books over the year's lifetime of the subscription, once their postal details have been confirmed online with Heywood Hill. If Heywood Hill do not hear from the subscriber within one month of the voucher being sent they will begin sending their choice of the best new books each month. They make great efforts to ensure that each book is the best choice for their subscribers. However, if the book choice is unsatisfactory or the subscriber has already read it, books in perfect unread condition can be exchanged. Subscribers can make a maximum of three exchanges during the year. Postage for the return of books and the sending of replacements is at the subscriber's expense.
