Le Magritte Bar & Terrace belongs to the great tradition of American bars that became legendary in London and Paris during the 1920s.

All-American bad boys (and girls) from Hemingway and Fitzgerald to Martin, Sinatra and MacLaine would have felt right at home in its handsome walnut-panelled interior, hung with an eclectic collection of early 20th century paintings and photographs, including the Magritte that gives the room its name.

The Bar specialises in bourbons, American whiskies and classic cocktails, which are strictly shaken or stirred.

Adjoining le Magritte is the chic, sheltered terrace overlooking tranquil Brown Hart Gardens. With 1920s-style rattan armchairs and café tables enfolded by lush greenery, the Terrace serves drinks and an all-day menu from early until late. Our popular S'mores are served everyday from noon until 5pm.

An exceptional selection of Cuban Cigars, including classic line, regional and limited editions, is available.

Opening Hours

Breakfast is served from 6:30am to 10:30am*
Lunch from noon to 5pm*
Le Magritte is open until midnight* Monday to Saturday, 11pm* on Sundays & Bank Holidays
The Terrace is open for breakfast from 8am to 10:30am* Monday to Sunday
All day menu and drinks from noon to 10:45pm* Monday to Saturday, 9pm* on Sundays & Bank Holidays

Please note that we do not take bookings for the Bar and Terrace, and we cannot accommodate groups larger than 8. Also note that there is a £30 minimum spend per person on the Terrace for food, drinks or cigars from 12 noon to closure - a discretionary service charge of 15% will be applied. This does not apply to children 12 years and below.

There is no formal dress code but we hope our guests will dress smartly and kindly request no sportswear, beachwear, shorts, ripped jeans or flip flops be worn in the bar.
